Absences: If your child is absent, please send in an excuse for the day or days missed. You have three days to send in an excuse to the students’ homeroom teacher, otherwise, the absence may be marked as unexcused. Please include the name of the child, especially if it is different than yours, the dates missed and a telephone number where you can be reached during the day. Please bring in a doctor's excuse if the student will be coming from a medical or dental appointment. If you have any questions about this contact Cherie Theis at 626-8787, ext. 311.

Tardies: All students have a seven-minute home room where class roll is taken and morning announcements are made. Students are to be in homeroom by 7:50 when the tardy bell rings. Students who do not make it to homeroom in time will have to come to the main office to get a tardy slip before being allowed in class. If your student has four unexcused tardies, he or she will have to spend a day in OCS (On-Campus Suspension). If your student has six unexcused tardies, he or she will have to go to Saturday school. If your child has eight tardies, the parent and student will have to go to truancy court.

Checking Students In and Out: Parents must provide written permission for students to check out with the date, name of the child (many students have a different name than the parent or guardian), the reason for the check-out and a telephone number where the parent may be reached. These notes must be turned in to the office the morning that the students will be checking out, so that the office has time to call the parents and verify the notes. Please include a phone number where you can be reached. The office has to verify every note that comes into the office. This saves time when the child is ready to leave school. Parents must present ID when checking students in or out. This is a state mandate for all schools to follow. Please make sure that all guardians or other persons you specify to pick up your child also have proper ID. The office needs at least one or two people designated as emergency contacts with current phone numbers in case a parent cannot be reached.

Please call the front office if you have any other questions or need more information.
